The ISSCT XI Pathology & IX Entomology Workshops will be hosted by the Sugar Research Foundation of Ecuador, FIADE and its Sugarcane Research Center of Ecuador, CINCAE in Guayaquil-Ecuador, South America, from September 14-18, 2015.
The Workshops will be an exciting opportunity to discuss topics relating to sugar cane research and development in sugar cane diseases, insects pest and their interactions as well as plant resistance and preventive management. Participants are encouraged to prepare abstracts for paper or poster presentations related to the theme of the Workshops. The Organizers will do their utmost to ensure stimulating Workshops with full scientific programmes as well as a friendly stay.
The Workshop will be conducted in English.
The scientific programme will comprise four workshop sessions, each of which will be preceded by selected oral presentations. Posters will also be welcomed and encourage to prepare a flash and dash poster presentation (Five minutes long & three slides each). During the week of the workshops, there will be a field visit to the Sugarcane Research Center of Ecuador (CINCAE). The Workshop is informal and therefore no proceedings will be published. Abstracts of oral presentations and posters will be distributed to participants at the Workshops and put on the ISSCT website. Abstracts of all contributions (oral and poster) must be received by 30 April 2015.
The authors for oral presentation and posters must submit a short abstract with no more than 300 words. The title and the author names should be in capital letters centered, followed by the institution information and contact e-mail; a list of keywords, and the abstract text. The text format should be in times new roman with a 12 pt. size, single line and justified. Because no proceedings are published, only the abstracts would be available as a workshop book, and at the member’s corner website. If the author agrees, some of the ¨PowerPont Shows¨ would be available at the ISSCT website. The abstract for the Pathology and the Entomology sections should be submitted before the deadline to the corresponding section chair (Please see contact information).
